Spring Membership Drive

At our March 23rd meeting, members voted to renew our call for equality for GLBT veteran and active duty service members.  We also voted to continue our support for our national organization AVER.

As part of our efforts to further our goals, we are actively seeking new members and encouraging former members to become active again.  MAPVA will work in the coming months to increase our visibility in our community by once again participating in the St. Louis Pridefest Parade and also hosting a membership open-house (details tba).

Membership is open to anyone (both military and non-military) interested in supporting our group.

Membership dues are $25.00 per year.  As a member you will enjoy both membership in our local chapter and the American Veterans for Equal Rights (AVER).

St. Louis Veteran's Day Parade '03
 
For the 3rd year in a row, the Mid America Pride Veterans and Allies marched in the St. Louis Veteran's Day parade.  Cool temperatures and the threat of rain kept many away but the people who were out felt proud to be in attendance.

Once again MAPVA marched in the St. Louis Pridefest Parade, this year with our new banner.

  
 

Craig Musser shows his Pride.  St. Louis Pridefest was held Saturday and Sunday, June 28th and 29th.  The event was extremely festive especially in light of the Supreme Court ruling earlier in the week.

The Mid-America Pride Veterans and Allies (MAPVA) is the Saint Louis area chapter of the America Veterans for Equal Rights (AVER).

MAPVA is an association of Saint Louis area active, reserve, veteran service-members, and allies.  We are dedicated to pursuing full and equal rights and equitable treatment for all present and former Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender (GLBT) members of the U.S. Armed Forces.

The group generally meets the last Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the AMF Western Lanes, 4041 Bingham Ave., in St. Louis, Missouri.  (MAP)
